Our Story

On December 21, 2009, on the winter solstice,
we opened the doors to the Root cafe, 
a unique place that was manifested from the desire
to create a familiar foundation for all people.
A common foundation for diversity to exist peacefully is the root of our community.
We create this foundation by sharing culture,
music, art, coffee, tea, food and all energy in Lakewood, Ohio.

The result is a cafe made with love for every person to share.
It is a vegan and vegetarian kitchen, an organic bakery,
an espresso bar featuring duck-rabbit coffee,
Asian teas & herbal tisanes, 
It is a community clubhouse with local art and events.
